Most Regretted Sale and Other Purses that I Love

Until I got into lolita, I carried my Army-issued camelback with me for my essentials. Emersion into fashion attempted to strip practicality off of my bones like a famished, but fabulous, scavenger. While I still love camelbacks and use them for hiking, the subtle outfit-cohesifying effects and overall flair of assorted bags are not lost on me. Thank goodness I'm steadily becoming capable of stomping out my out path!

Bags come and go the fastest in my wardrobe...
I have owned and let go of several lolita bags. I really liked my H Naoto Frill bunny-bag (good times, buttoning his arms to his eyes xD) but none of my bags really gave me the "ah I love this bag" like my IW Crown Bag in brown x bordeaux. I regret selling it even more than letting go of my VM bustle skirt in 2011... I hadn't used it yet and I was starting to feel guilty about it. ;.;

I didn't mean it, Darling! Please take me back and let's never fight again!
Before re-obtaining the crown purse, I'm hoping to find the Double Ribbon Lycee Bag in beige x brown, since it personifies purse/satchel perfection. A classic lolita bag that I can fit my college junk into?

Absolutely
PERFECT

I have developed a weakness for book bags, satchels, and crown bags. These two are on their way to me right now:

Shiny Ribbon 3 Way Rucksack

Other bags that I like, starting with book-shaped bags:

AP Wonder Story Bag
Euflonica Bag

Magic Book 3-Way Bag

going to classic satchels, which aren't exactly lolita, but still lovely:

And ending with shaped bags I don't know if I could actually use comfortably:

Jane Marple Violin Bag

I'd love to hear about your purse/bag loves! Drop a link or contact me on tumblr and I'll check it out :)

Shipping Cheaper in the US- Flat Rate Regional

Everyone should save money on shipping, and it may be helpful for your sales and purchases in the future.
If you don't already know about regional flat rate, I'm going to tell you all about it.

If you can get ahold of a regional flat rate box A, you can fit items as large as skirts or lighter-material jsks into them for cheap.  B is larger, and can fit OPs. They cost $3-$7 less than standard flat rate, depending upon the destination. You will also be saving money on packaging because the boxes are free, and it frequently ends up being cheaper than standard post. Because it is still priority mail, your package will arrive quickly– typically in 3 days.

They don't always carry regional boxes in the post offices, but you can order them for free on the USPS.com website:

Go here for flat rate regional boxes if your local post office doesn't have them.
If you purchase shipping online, you can save up to another dollar, but you cannot purchase the shipping label on paypal. You must buy it on USPS.com, or in the post office, and then update the tracking info onto paypal or wherever it is you want your buyer's tracking number to be seen.

If you purchase shipping from the USPS website, do not select flat rate shipping or it won't show up! Select "package" on the first screen and then enter any weight up to 15 lbs (you don't need to know the real weight since it will be flat rate, assuming the dress isn't made of lead)...

and then select  "Priority Mail®,"  and it will show up:

Savings. Juicy, delicious, savings.

Hopefully some of you can start saving a bit of money with this method of shipping!

2014 is Winsome's Year of the Dream Print and Wardrobe Turnover

It feels like it's been years since I've posted! Oh wait...

Despite looking back and feeling the stinging shame of anyone who looks at their old writing, amplified by tripe and generally appearing terrible, I have decided to keep many of my old posts so that I have a comparison for growth. ^.^

This year I wanted to really focus and do a wardrobe overhaul, so my turnover has been even higher than usual. In my closet is about 1/6th of what I have owned altogether, but I am much more satisfied with what I have now. I have a few things for sale right now (including Kidsyoyo's Violin Embroidery Coat which I plan on replacing with another in red, navy, or ivory)

but after they are gone I don't see myself getting rid of anything I have. I made a lot of mistakes building and thinning my wardrobe, but from here it's just carefully building.

2014's goal is to snatch up some dream prints I wasn't able to get at release and get some more blouses, underskirts, shoes, and accessories to add variety– fulfilling my new year's resolution to wear lolita full-time. Van and I are still waiting for our Taobao order to arrive, but this year I've already obtained five dream items:

Clockwork Tea Party Lumiere, Rider's Parka, 1st Release Wonder Party, and Wonder Story Apron-Style skirt
Rin Chan's Tinker Bell Head Bow, sparking my mint chiffon passion!

My wardrobe has morphed considerably since last post. Inexperienced, I used to only want and wear skirts, thinking that they were better suited for someone my height. I also didn't care for prints outside of floral. Two years ago I purchased Alice's Marchin' Cookie Flavour Milky jsk in pink (they were out of brown) from BtSSB SF and I changed my mind about jsks and prints in the time it took me to walk from the dressing room to the mirror.

Current sk/jsks: 4 BtSSB, 2 AP, and 3 bl- the rest are floating about somewhere, I'm not sure...

I saw F Yeah Lolita's lolita-specific 52 week challenge after ignoring the internet for a very long time. Let me know if you're working on it too! It's good to be active again. *v*
